Update on what Maddie is doing these days.

Maddie has been learning and doing so much more! she is pulling to stand ALL the time and also cruising around furniture. Her new word is "uh oh" and sometimes she "Moos" when you point to a cow. If you say "thank you" she says "nah nah" She can give a high five, and she waves "hello" and "goodbye" Here are some pictures of what she has been up to:o)

Doing a puzzle and learning her shapes
Playing with her kitchen:o) A present from Gammy. Here is a video of Maddie pulling to stand.

I thought I was going to be the one teaching her things, but she is actually the one teaching me. I am continually amazed by what she is doing and her determination. We have decided to forego the prosthetic for now. I don't believe it does anything to benefit her. She does everything without it. She is such a strong little girl!!!!

  1. Hi Heather!

I am the mother of a 4 week old little girl who was born without her entire left arm. She is otherwise completely healthy and sweet as can be. I found your blog through the Born Just Right blog and I just wanted to let you know that your blog is so encouraging to me! Especially this post. I keep thinking that my little girl may not need a prosthetic either and will be able to do everything in her own way. The hardest thing right now is being worried about the future, but it is so helpful to have a little foresight into the future. I don't have a blog right now, but my email is kerthc at gmail dot com.

    Thanks so much!

  2. Cindy, it is so nice meeting you through the blog. I am so glad you find this site encouraging. I found it so helpful to read other peoples blogs when Maddie was smaller wondering how she was going to doing everything a normal child will do. Your little girl will be able to do everything!! Maddie is so amazing with how she figures things out. They are ALL so very special and do more than we could EVER imagine! I would love to keep in touch with you, and if you ever have any questions about anything or even prosthetics let me know. It is so nice to have other resources. Where do you live?

    Have a great day!!!
    Heather
